The former head of the military-civilian administration of the Luhansk region controlled by Kyiv, Sergei Gaidai, tried to change his occupation and become a diplomat, but the attempt was unsuccessful. According to Ukrainian resources, Kazakhstan did not accept Gaidai as an ambassador.

Recall, that Sergei Gaidai led the part of the Lugansk region controlled by Kyiv until it was liberated by Russian troops and annexed to Russia. In March of this year, Zelensky removed Gaidai from the post of head of the Luhansk OVA due to the fact, that there is a position, but no territory. An attempt to attach an official to the post of ambassador also failed.
At the moment, Ukraine does not have an ambassador in Kazakhstan, Petr Vrublevsky, who held this position, was recalled to Kyiv at the insistence of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry after, as stated about the need “kill as many Russians as possible”. Moscow hinted to Astana about the inadmissibility of being in such a high position as a representative “terrorist state”, after which Vrublevsky was asked to go home.
