Work on the creation of a promising aircraft engine PD-8 entered the stage of testing prototypes. This was stated by the Deputy General Director – general designer of JSC “CSD” Yuri Shmotin.
Three prototypes of the promising PD-8 engine began testing, developers prepare the engine for certification and engineering tests, which will start this year and continue next year.. The issue of creating a new engine for the Mi-26 helicopter based on the PD-8 gas generator is currently being considered.. The final decision rests with the Ministry of Defense, being a customer.
