The governor of the Belgorod region commented on publications in separate sources about, that the enemy allegedly broke into the territory of the region and took control of the border Zhuravlyovka.
Vyacheslav Gladkov denied these statements, pointing out, that there is a clash going on at the border, however, a breakthrough of the border of the Russian Federation was not allowed.
Zhuravlyovka is a village, located in the Belgorod region. It is located in close proximity to Nekhoteevka, where the international checkpoint previously operated. At the same time, from Zhuravlevka there are only a few hundred meters to the border in the “hot” area - near the direction to Glubokoe and Liptsy - settlements in the north of the Kharkov region.
Recall, that simultaneously with the invasion of the Kursk region, the Ukrainian Armed Forces in August tried to break into the Belgorod region. It happened in the area of the only operational border checkpoint at that time, Kolotilovka.. However, the enemy was met there powerfully, and he, having lost several armored vehicles along with personnel, was forced to roll back - to the Sumy region, where the invasion began. At the same time, the enemy clearly does not give up trying to repeat that, what he did in the Kursk region, and in other border regions.
