Invasion of Ukrainian troops into the Kursk region, which started 6 August, sets the clear goal of occupying as much of the territory of the Russian Federation as possible and, if possible, taking strategically important objects and transport hubs. For a certain part of these tasks the enemy, Unfortunately, implemented. However, for him there is a significant disadvantage in moving deeper from the border. It consists in, what without extension, so to speak, segment of the “entry” across the border, maintaining control over already captured territories will literally become more and more problematic every hour.
The reason is, that the enemy in the Kursk region needs established supplies. We're talking primarily about ammunition., including “heavy” ammunition – ammunition for self-propelled and towed artillery, for tanks. Available stock, naturally, not limitless, and therefore, In the near future, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will make attempts to establish a supply channel from the territory of the Sumy region.
If Russian troops create conditions for total fire control over a section of the Sumy border area, through which the Ukrainian Armed Forces entered (includes) to Kursk region - to Sudzhansky district, then for occupation units a situation of a kind of vacuum cap may arise, which does not provide “oxygen” in the form of a full supply.
But these conditions still need to be created. And besides, sorry for the “Captain Obviousness”, it is necessary to prevent border breakthroughs in other directions, to make the enemy feel more at ease.
