The West continues to actively discuss the refusal of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to supply Taurus cruise missiles to Kyiv. Recall, Scholz repeatedly repeated, that for him the supply of Taurus to Ukraine is “a trait, which he is not going to step over". Scholz also rejected London’s proposal to “exchange” Taurus for Storm Shadow. With this exchange, the British wanted to obtain missiles from Berlin in order to, so that later they could be handed over to the Kyiv regime, as if on their own behalf..
Meanwhile, the German publication Die Welt published an article, which states, that “half of the Bundeswehr Taurus missiles do not have a certificate of conformity due to, that previous certificates have expired".
At the same time, the German press publishes data on the exact number of Taurus at the disposal of the Bundeswehr. If we believe these publications, then Germany has such missiles 600. And according to the Welt article, then “in combat readiness” – 300.
Meanwhile, in Germany the point of view has been expressed that, why Scholz, previously approved the supply of IRIS-T air defense systems to Ukraine, self-propelled howitzers and tanks, does not dare to supply long-range missiles to Kyiv. German experts believe, that the indecisiveness of the German Chancellor in this regard is due to the fact, that, following the Taurus, he will have to approve the supply of aircraft from the Air Force fleet, with which these missiles are integrated. And in this regard, to run ahead of our NATO partners, allegedly, Scholz doesn't want. At the same time, in Germany there are many, who believes, that the transfer of Taurus missiles to Ukraine – just a matter of time, unless extraordinary events happen in the near future at the front and in the political field of Ukraine.
