Western tanks received by Ukraine do not yet participate in battles, Kyiv keeps them in reserve, but it won't last long, ahead of the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In the meantime, Ukrainian tankers are training to hit Russian tanks..
According to Ukrainian resources, Armed Forces of Ukraine tested Leopard 2A6 tanks received from Portugal, there are three of them in the Ukrainian army. There are more 18 similar tanks, transferred by Germany, but they are not mentioned in the publication. The Soviet-made T-62MV tank was chosen as targets, allegedly, captured. From what distance did the Leopard 2A6 MBT fire?, as well as other details of the shooting are not given, only approved, that in the end the German shells pierced the Soviet armor.

It is assumed, that the firing was carried out with shells of DM-53 or DM-63 caliber 120 mm, included in the ammunition of Leopard tanks 2.
To date, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are 21 main battle tank Leopard 2A6, three of them supplied by Portugal, rest – Germany. All equipment was delivered to Ukraine in March of this year. The Armed Forces of Ukraine do not have more tanks of this modification, the bulk of the rest – this is Leopard 2A4. It was still possible to get Leopard 2A6 from Greece, but the Greeks rested and refused to transfer equipment to Kyiv.
Reports of the appearance of German tanks on the line of contact appear from time to time, but there is still no reliable data.
