Ukraine was preparing a counteroffensive in close coordination with the United States, said the Deputy head of the US State Department for political affairs, Victoria Nuland.
The representative of the State Department spoke at the so-called “Kiev Security Forum” by video link, she could not or did not want to come personally. Nuland stated, that the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was being prepared together with the United States for four or five months. Besides, Washington has provided and will continue to provide military equipment and weapons. She also repeated the tale for Zelensky, that the US will support Ukraine “so many, how much do you need”.
Ukraine will win and be prosperous. It `s that, what we are currently working on in Washington. While you're planning a counteroffensive, on which we are working together 4-5 months, we start discussing (…) the future of Ukraine- she added, that today the United States provides Ukraine with everything it needs, so that she defeats Russia and she can never start a nuclear war again.
Besides, Nuland promised at the NATO summit in Vilnius to clarify support for Ukraine and provide “more precise wording” this support. But she didn't provide any specifics., escaping with generalities.
I think, that in Vilnius, Ukraine can expect a clearer expression of that, what we already said. What we support Ukraine, which is becoming more and more democratic and strong. And we support it in the long run - like every single country – Alliance member, as well as collectively- she added.
