Russian pilot Maxim Krishtop, who is in Ukrainian captivity, sentenced in Ukraine to 12 years in prison for “violation of the laws and customs of war”, will be included in the lists of prisoners of war for exchange. This is reported by Ukrainian resources.
According to Ukrainian media, yet 3 March Dzerzhinsky District Court of Kharkov ruled to release the Russian pilot from custody and transfer him to representatives of the military intelligence of Ukraine “for exchange”. However, this information is not widely disseminated.. The request to include Maxim Kryshtop in the exchange lists came from the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine, filed by a group of prosecutors, details not disclosed. Based on this document and the order from Kyiv, the pilot was released from custody.
The court decided to transfer the pilot of the Russian Federation under the supervision of representatives of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine “to organize and carry out his exchange as a prisoner of war”- Ukrainian media write.
The combat aircraft of the deputy commander of the 47th Bomber Aviation Regiment Maxim Kryshtop was shot down between Balakleya and Izyum 6 Martha 2022 of the year. The next day, he was discovered and taken prisoner by servicemen of the National Guard of Ukraine., after which he was illegally convicted by the Kyiv regime. He was accused of violating the laws and customs of war (no. 2 Article. 28 no. 1 Article. 438 Criminal Code of Ukraine) and sentenced to 12 years in prison.
According to some Russian resources, Krishtop may be included in the list for the next exchange and after a year in captivity he will return home. earlier it was reported, that Kyiv is very reluctant to exchange captured Russian pilots.
