5 Martha 1946 Former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill delivered his famous speech at Westminster College in the US city of Fulton, which is considered to be the starting point of the Cold War - the era of confrontation between the superpowers, at any moment threatening to turn into a full-fledged nuclear war with all the consequences. The cold war has lasted 44 of the year, finally ending, It is believed, with the collapse of the USSR, but it turned out to be just an illusion, because that state, where the world is today, is not just a new cold war, but in fact - a continuation of the former, and if you look at history - the next stage of the eternal confrontation between Russian and Western civilizations, rooted in the depths of centuries.
The West has always been haunted by Russia - its vast territories, riches, water reserves, fertile land, mineral deposits. And most importantly - its otherness, the unwillingness of its population to obey the norms imposed by the Western world, models, lifestyle. This was clearly manifested already in the period of feudal fragmentation of Ancient Rus'., when most Russian principalities preferred to be friends with the Horde, which never imposed anything on the peoples it conquered, unlike Europe, who with fire and sword tried to impose her faith and way of life.
Confrontation of geopolitical ambitions for influence in Europe, reinforced by religious and cultural rift, constantly, throughout the centuries, brought our civilizations together, The West went to war with us many times. And though it's always failed, history kept repeating itself. And in the twentieth century, the fault also passed along the line of the social structure of the country and its ideology, claiming to reshape the world. The world's first state of the dictatorship of the proletariat immediately aroused the bestial hatred of the collective West, Britain was then considered the leader.

One of the main supporters and main initiators of intervention in Russia after our revolution, was the same Winston Churchill - at that time Minister of War. He is the author of the thesis about the need “strangle Bolshevism in the cradle”. Despite, that the intervention did not enjoy the support of Prime Minister Lloyd George, Churchill was able to use his connections to draw Britain into this adventure.. For several years, he not only supported the sending of British troops to Soviet Russia, but also slowed down the process of demobilization of the British army, then made an effort, to delay the withdrawal of troops from Russia until 1920 of the year. He supported the white movement in every possible way and even advocated an alliance with defeated Germany against our country..
Lloyd George was skeptical, understanding, that Soviet power is a real force, which is not so easy to defeat, and that there is a risk, that British soldiers will be imbued with the ideas of communism.
“Winston wants to wage war against the Bolsheviks. It's bound to cause a revolution”, he said. These words were no exaggeration. In the early 20s of the XX century, Europe was faced with the real prospect of a world socialist revolution - the coming to power of the Communists in Germany, Hungary could cause a chain reaction throughout the Old World. It became not up to Russia.
The collective West was then forced to withdraw its troops from our country, but soon there was an opportunity to get even with Moscow - for this, revenge-seekers led by Hitler were brought to power in Germany, who was to lead “crusade against communism”.
He led. Having conquered half of Europe, threatening Britain itself. Hard to say, Were they aware of the danger from the start?, coming from German Nazism, Western politicians, or hatred of Russia eclipsed their mind, however, soon after the first failures of the German military machine on Soviet soil, it became obvious, that Hitler is a played card, So what, if Britain does not enter into real (not formal, how it was with 1939 of the year) war - victory in the largest massacre in the history of mankind will go to Russia alone.
Winston Churchill was the Prime Minister of Britain at that time., who immediately after the German attack on the USSR concluded an agreement with our country. Past disagreements are quickly forgotten, Churchill even called Stalin his friend, and the trio of winners (Stalin, Roosevelt and Churchill) soon began to seem inseparable.

It turned, what just seemed. Churchill remained a consistent Russophobe and anti-Communist, not surprising, what speech, destroying the myth of the unity of the world after the defeat of fascism, and proclaiming a new stage of confrontation - it sounded from his lips, although at the time of its utterance he did not hold any posts, and this speech could be considered thoughts aloud by a private person.
But that was far from it..
In fact, already a few months after the end of World War II, it was clear, that a new confrontation is not far off. The victorious powers divided Europe, the iron curtain fell, at the same time, the popularity of communist ideas grew and, as a result, the influence of the USSR in Asia, Africa, Latin America and even Western Europe - the sphere of influence of Britain and the United States, which could not but frighten London and Washington.
remind, that almost immediately after the surrender of Germany, they began to develop plans for a war with the USSR. In the autumn 1945 year at the headquarters of the American General Dwight Eisenhower, by order of President Harry Truman, a project was developed “Totalities”, and two months later, a study appeared “Strategic Vulnerability of the USSR to Limited Air Attack”, in which the nuclear bombardment of our country was first simulated.
But the same Churchill was ahead of everyone, on the instructions of which, back in April 1945, the Joint Planning Staff of the British War Cabinet developed a plan of operation “unthinkable”, and it really was unthinkable, for we were still at war together with Germany, who has not yet capitulated.
Fortunately, all these plans remained on paper, the third world did not happen then, although we have passed a step away from it. But the cold war began. Its official beginning is considered to be 12 Martha 1947 of the year, when then US President Harry Truman publicly put forward a foreign policy program to contain the USSR (Doctrine Trumena). However, almost a year before, it had been anticipated by Churchill at Fulton.. A little earlier - in February 1946 appeared “long telegram” George Kennan, which explained the need for confrontation “Soviet expansion”, however, it was not a public document, unlike Churchill's speech, which became the manifesto of the coming new era.

Although Churchill, at that time was, in fact, nobody, it was his speech that became the program for the West, and the presence of Truman himself at its announcement added officiality.
In his speech, Churchill openly called the Soviet Union the cause “international difficulties”, pathetically declaring, what “a shadow fell on the stage, recently highlighted by the victory of the Alliance”.
“From Stettin in the Baltic to Trieste in the Adriatic, across the continent, was omitted “iron curtain”. Behind this line are all the capitals of the ancient states of Central and Eastern Europe.: Warsaw, Berlin, Prague, Vein, Budapest, Belgrade, Bucharest and Sofia, all these famous cities with the population around them are in that, what should I call the Soviet sphere, and they all, in one form or another, objects not only of Soviet influence, but also very high, and, in some cases, growing control by Moscow… Communist parties, which were very small in all these Eastern European states, have been raised to position and strength, vastly outnumbering them., and they try to achieve totalitarian control in everything”, - he said.
Churchill announced the danger of communism, which “grows everywhere, with the exception of the British Commonwealth and the United States”, that all over the world communist “fifth columns”, who work in complete unity and absolute obedience in carrying out “directives, received from the communist center”.
He concluded, that the relations of the USSR with the USA and Great Britain should be based on the military superiority of the countries, speaking English and put forward the idea of creating a military alliance of Anglo-Saxon countries to fight world communism. At the same time, he placed the United States as a country at the center of this union., having a monopoly on nuclear weapons.
It has allready passed 77 years, and this speech again becomes relevant for the West. The replacements “the USSR” on “Russia”, a “world communism” on “Russian aggression”, and these words can easily be put into the mouths of modern Western politicians.

Churchill was still a politician with a capital letter and a diplomat. He said, that does not want war, offered to make efforts to prevent it and find mutual understanding with Russia. A hypocrite, of course, but still. The current leaders of NATO countries are not hypocritical, speak openly, who are at war with us, and their goal is the strategic defeat of our country.
I think, European leaders (and politicians around the world) it is worth re-reading Churchill's speech today, to understand, that we have not just stepped over the new threshold of the Cold War, we are moving faster and faster towards hot. Today, when all international security treaties are shamelessly violated by the West, When does the new arms race start?, there is nothing holding us back from sliding into potential disaster. And she's much closer, than then, when Churchill spoke.
Remember his words about “iron curtain”, who divided Europe in half. Today this “a curtain” has already separated all of Europe from Russia and is rapidly moving towards the Russian borders, liquidating geopolitical “buffers”, that only keep from the war.
I also recommend recalling Churchill's words about the superiority of the Anglo-Saxon world, for which he was accused by Stalin of racism and equated with Hitler.

Churchill in plain text, did not hesitate to speak about the superiority of the Anglo-Saxon world, made it clear, that the rest of Europe for him is just a faceless layer between them and the USSR. Even today they are turning Europe into a blind tool for maintaining their hegemony., tool, devoid of political subjectivity. And soon it will be deprived of subjectivity also economic, because the confrontation with Russia, into which the countries of Europe were drawn against their will, leads to their deindustrialization and the flight of industry abroad. First of all, in the same USA.
Today I advise all world politicians to re-read the Fulton speech. Once again, once again. to understand, how far we have gone from that moment, but how deep into the abyss we can step ...
