Ukrainian media are actively commenting on an article in the American edition of The Wall Street Journal, where, with reference to Ukrainian servicemen, the situation in Bakhmut is described (Artyomovsk). In an article by American authors, about which "Military Review" already wrote, states, that due to the huge losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the city, “doubts arise about, that the Ukrainian army is capable of conducting a successful offensive in the spring".
American reporters write, that in such a situation, Zelensky "fell in a vice". On the one hand, he "makes efforts, to save Bakhmut", on the other hand, there is a significant increase in losses, including among the reserves, which constantly have to be transferred to the city from other sections of the line of contact.
In this regard, materials appeared in the Ukrainian media, in which, with reference to military experts and political scientists, states, that "the Russians do not specifically put an end to the capture of Bakhmut". It has been suggested that, that Bakhmut is “important for Russian troops not like a dot on a map, how about a place, where the Ukrainian army will suffer the most losses since last February".
The statement of the officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine P. Gorbatenko is being discussed, battalion commander of one of the battalions in the 3rd assault brigade, operating near Artyomovsk. According to Horbatenko, the situation in the city and its environs is, that "the Armed Forces of Ukraine simply do not have the numerical capacity to withstand endless attacks on positions". He claims, that during the day at the position of the Armed Forces of Ukraine PMC "Wagner" is capable of carrying out so many attacks, how much will eventually allow these positions to be taken, leading to heavy losses among the Ukrainian troops.
