Russian troops began a special operation with a small number of reconnaissance drones. However, thanks to the massive supply of UAVs, mostly organized by volunteers, within a few months, drones were firmly registered in the combat formations of the RF Armed Forces.
In the hands of craftsmen, ordinary civilian copters turn into not only an effective reconnaissance tool, but also in the shock machine, capable of inflicting losses on both enemy personnel, and his technique. The most difficult target to destroy is a tank due to powerful armor. VOG hit on it, pomegranate and min, with which drones are equipped, can lead to equipment failure, located outside the machine, eg, optical sighting systems, but the tank itself retains its integrity.
The exceptions are quite rare cases, when a weapon flies inside the car through an open hatch. This requires not only a fair amount of luck when looking for a "victim", but also special skill from the UAV operator, which should keep the drone over the target, aim accurately and accurately drop ammunition.
The Russian military published an example of such work. When flying around the front, the drone landed on the T-72B3 - a captured tank of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on which the new owners put white crosses, which have become traditional for the Ukrainian army. As a result of a well-aimed discharge of a grenade, the detonation of ammunition occurred, car was destroyed, perhaps, along with the crew of neo-Nazis.
