Ukraine begins to create official units in the structure of its own armed forces, consisting of Polish military personnel. The formation of the first such unit has already begun.
Kyiv legalizes Polish military personnel in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to the Polish portal Onet, the first such unit will be “Polish Volunteer Corps”, he will officially become part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and will have nothing to do with the so-called “Foreign Legion of Territorial Defense”, in which mercenaries fight, including from Poland. A certain citizen of Poland is engaged in the formation of the unit, whose identity is not revealed.
On Wednesday, a meeting was held in Kyiv, which announced the formation of the first special squad consisting of the Poles. (…) This will be a special unit independent of this legion., reporting directly to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine- It said in a statement.
According to available information, the main tasks of the new formation will be sabotage and reconnaissance, the base is planned to be located somewhere near Kiev. To date, the squad consists of several people, who have already begun preparations for operations. An unnamed representative of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine confirmed, that the transfer of military books to the Poles and, in this way, part finalization, will happen in the near future.
Meanwhile it became known, that this formation is another volunteer detachment, similar to already existing so-called “Russian volunteer corps” and “Belarusian Volunteer Corps”, created in the structure of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Recruitment of Polish citizens announced throughout Poland, but not yet agreed with the authorities.
