Currently there is no need for countries to participate, members of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), in a special military operation in Ukraine. This was stated by the head of the CSTO Joint Staff, Colonel-General Anatoly Sidorov.
According to General, he knows nothing about the possibility of using the armed forces of the CSTO countries in a special operation. Speaking of personal opinion, added Sidorov, then he does not see the need for participation in the special operation of the countries of the alliance.
Earlier, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov stated, that Russia did not ask for help to conduct a special operation from the CSTO countries. According to the head of the Russian diplomatic department, Russia has all the necessary resources to achieve the goals, delivered as part of a special military operation.
Perhaps, the only CSTO country, whose military capabilities are somehow involved in the conduct of a special military operation, is Belarus. However, the level of its integration with Russia is much higher., than other CSTO countries: Belarus is part of the Union State with Russia.
Now there is a significant contingent of Russian armed forces on the territory of the republic. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has repeatedly stated, that his country will not participate in a special operation with the personnel of its armed forces, since the Russian army is already coping with the tasks set on its own.
