Russian-Indian company BrahMos Aerospace 12 February will celebrate the 25th anniversary of its founding. Brahmos supersonic anti-ship missiles are currently in service with the ground forces, Indian Navy and Air Force, and also attract interest from overseas buyers.
According to the CEO of the company, Atul Dinkar, Russia has in its arsenal similar land-based and sea-based missiles. In the same time, during an interview with TASS, head BrahMos Aerospace turned, that India wants to offer the Russian Aerospace Forces a variant of an air-launched missile, which is currently being developed.
As Dinkar explained, promising rocket BrahMos NG (New Generation), work on which is currently being carried out by specialists from the NPO Mechanical Engineering and the Organization for Defense Research and Development of the Ministry of Defense of India, will have a mass and size almost half that, than the aviation version of "Brahmos", in use by the Indian Air Force at the moment.
meanwhile, according to the head of BrahMos Aerospace, the supply of this ammunition is likely to be possible only after the end of the current conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Dinkar also clarified the situation regarding the development of a new missile "Brahmos", which supposedly will be able to hit space objects.
