The Russian military-industrial complex continues to work on improving existing weapons. One of the new developments is related to the navy.
It is planned to test a gyro-stabilized platform on one of the Russian warships. According to RIA Novosti, a feature of this deck platform is to simplify the takeoff and landing of unmanned aerial vehicles and helicopters in difficult weather conditions, eg, in strong winds or rough seas.
The appearance in the Russian Navy of the first ship with a modernized platform for takeoff and landing is expected in the coming years. It does not specify, what type of ship will the platform be installed on and will it be part of a new ship being developed or will it be built into existing ships.
It is also reported, that the special platform can also be used for the safe operation of cranes, ladders, or other equipment on auxiliary ships of the Navy.
The site is equipped with 13 drive supports, in contrast to the standard six supports. From several options, the Navy command chose the project with the highest technical performance, which can be considered today.
