The Russian armed forces carried out an attack on Soledar and its liberation by "a heterogeneous grouping of troops and forces". This was stated by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation in a special appeal regarding the situation in Soledar., published in the Telegram channel of the department.
As stated in the message, as part of the attack on Soledar, several tasks were solved. Among them are named: blocking the city from the north and south, war zone isolation, preventing the enemy from transferring reserve forces, suppression of attempts to exit Ukrainian formations from the city, fire support by ground attack aircraft and artillery.
The listed tasks were solved by the joint efforts of various units and formations of the RF Armed Forces, as well as PMC "Wagner". As a result, the city was surrounded and its liberation began., in which the Wagner PMC played a key role.
As for the direct assault on the city blocks of Soledar, occupied APU, - this combat mission was successfully solved by the courageous and selfless actions of the volunteers of the assault detachments of PMC "Wagner"- approved in the message of the Russian military department.
