The Russian Ministry of Defense commented on the information that appeared on the Web about explosions at a military airfield in Engels, Saratov Region. According to the military department, airfield tried to attack Ukrainian drone.
According to the military, Ukrainian drone attempted to attack the airfield of strategic aviation “Engels-2”, moving towards an object at low altitude. Air defense systems spotted the drone and shot it down, but the wreckage of the UAV fell on the territory of the airfield. As a result, three Russian servicemen of the technical staff were killed. Aircraft, located at the airport, received no damage.
26 December 1.35 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle was shot down by means of air defense of the Russian Aerospace Forces at low altitude while approaching the military airfield "Engels" in the Saratov region. As a result of the fall of the wreckage of the drone, three Russian military personnel, located at the airport, were mortally wounded. Aviation equipment was not damaged- It said in a statement.
This is the second attack on the Engels airfield, the first one was 5 December, when Ukraine simultaneously attacked two military airfields near Saratov and near Ryazan at once. That raid also ended in the death of the Russian military, three people died, four more were injured.
think about it, that Kyiv will stop drone attacks on military airfields is stupid, the terrorist state of Ukraine will try all possible ways, to cause as much damage as possible to Russia. Whether the Ministry of Defense drew conclusions after the first attack is unknown, even though the post says, that the drone was still shot down.
Recall, that Russia responded to the previous strike on airfields with a massive attack on the critical infrastructure of Ukraine. I think, that this time the answer will not be long in coming.
