Today at the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) Mayor of Odessa Gennady Trukhanov was summoned for questioning. This was reported by the Ukrainian edition of "Dumskaya", referring to their own sources in law enforcement agencies of Ukraine.
In early December, businessman Boris Kaufman was detained in Odessa. This businessman is considered a representative of Trukhanov's entourage. He was also detained by NABU officers. Several officials of the Odessa administration received suspicions from the special services about their possible involvement in the case.
note, that this is not Trukhanov's first problem with law enforcement. Earlier, the mayor of Odessa was already detained. AT 2018 year he was detained, but then he managed to file and win a lawsuit in the ECtHR over illegal arrest and detention.
Interesting, that shortly before Trukhanov's arrest, a petition appeared on the website of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky asking the head of the Kyiv regime to deal with the Odessa mayor: he allegedly has Russian citizenship, and with his statements against the demolition of the monument to Catherine II, he inspires suspicion.
But actually, of course, Trukhanov is not pro-Russian and even neutral, his problems with law enforcement agencies are connected only with the division of spheres of influence in business and with corruption schemes.
