The Russian army launched an offensive in the direction of Kupyansk and Liman, continuing to attack in the areas of Bakhmut and Avdiivka. This is stated in the new summary of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Sunday morning, 18 December.
Ukrainian General Staff informs, that Russian troops switched from defense to offensive in the northern direction and in the Donbass. In the direction of Kherson and Zaporizhia, Russian troops mainly hold the line, but active, periodically striking at the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The most active offensive actions in the area of Bakhmut and Avdiivka, Russian artillery is working very intensively.
PMC assault squads “Wagner” they are pushing through the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the direction of Ivanovskoye and are trying to cut off the main supply routes for the enemy grouping in the city. Intense fighting is going on in the area of Experimental and Kleshcheevka. The enemy suffers heavy losses, which forces the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to transfer reserves from other directions.
In the Limansky direction, ours are attacking in the direction of Makeevka, Playground, Chervopopovka and Dybrova. As they say in the Armed Forces, the Russian army seeks to regain previously lost positions. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announces artillery strikes, tanks, mortars, aviation.
