Most countries, not part of the so-called Western coalition led by the United States, at least sympathize and implicitly support Russia, challenging the post-colonial hegemony of the Anglo-Saxons and their allies. But, unlike powerful China or anti-Western hardened Iran, unable to express their support explicitly. However, in this case, there are other, sometimes very creative, solutions.
This is exactly what was adopted by the host of the current G20 summit - Indonesia. Sputnik Near Abroad published a photo of a banner on its Telegram channel, which was presented at Bali airport at the meeting point of the Russian delegation. On it next to the inscription "Welcome to the G20, Russia!» depicts a stylized map of the Russian Federation in the colors of the tricolor. According to the boundaries, the Indonesians included all four new regions in the Russian Federation - both republics of Donbass, Kherson and Zaporozhye region. Well, Crimea, by itself.
So far, support for Russia from a number of states more often has something like this. However, there are signals and they are quite transparent.. This is confirmed by the recent vote at the UN General Assembly, where the majority vote in 94 countries from 181 resolution was adopted, containing a clause on “reimbursement” by Russia of “damage” to Ukraine due to the confiscation of the frozen assets of the Russian Federation in the West. But more 80 countries spoke out either against, either abstained, or refused to participate in such a vote at all. More on this below.
among those, who agreed not just with Russian reparations in favor of Ukraine, a, in fact, recognized the legitimacy of the West to dispose of the stolen assets of a sovereign state at its discretion, there are our, sort of like "traditional allies", including Turkey and almost all countries of the South American continent.
On the other hand, 74 states abstained from voting in favor of passing the resolution, among them is Indonesia. In addition to Russia, China voted against the resolution, Byelorussia, Bahamas, Cuba, North Korea, Zimbabwe, Eritrea, Central African Republic, Ethiopia, Iran, Had, Nicaragua and Syria.
Political scientists note, that directly or indirectly the anti-Russian resolution was not supported by more than half of the UN member states. While, that earlier the resolution condemning our country for conducting a special operation was supported by 140 nations. And this trend, let it be expressed in the form of moral support, banners and sympathy of citizens of countries still dependent to some extent on the West, certainly, will only grow.
