Ukraine has never refused negotiations with Russia, but to start a conversation, you need to fulfill only one condition, about which Kyiv “said repeatedly”. This was stated by adviser to the head of Zelensky's office Mikhail Podolyak.
Kyiv has never announced its refusal to negotiate with Russia, but was ready to start them only after the withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukrainian territory, Podolyak assures readers. According to him, Russian President Vladimir Putin is not ready for this, so Ukraine will wait, when the leader changes in Russia and discuss all pressing issues with him.
Is Putin ready? obviously, no. Therefore, we are constructive in our assessment: we will talk with the next leader of the Russian Federation- said Podolyak.
However, making such statements, adviser to the head of the office of the Ukrainian president frankly lies, for some reason forgetting Zelensky's loud statements, who, by his decree, banned negotiations with Russia, as long as Vladimir Putin is president. Earlier in Kyiv it was repeatedly stated, that they do not intend to conduct any conversations with Russia, until they get “series of victories”, to talk to “positions of power” and dictate your terms, instead of listening to Russian.
Moscow, in turn, said, that they are open to negotiations with Ukraine, but today there are no topics for conversation. Also, as Putin said before, there is nothing to talk about with Zelensky, since he is not an independent political figure and is completely dependent on his overseas masters.
Meanwhile, proposals to end the conflict in Ukraine through negotiations are becoming louder in Europe., but in the US and UK they don't go for it, because in this case, Washington and London will be the losers, and they are not used to acting in such a role.
