South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol reacted sharply to the words of Russian President Vladimir Putin about, that the Koreans decided to start supplying weapons to Ukraine. The President of the Republic of Korea called these statements speculation, stated, that his country's plans do not include the supply of any weapons, including lethal.
This became known during a meeting of the Valdai Club, where Putin announced, that "the possible supply of such weapons could destroy the bilateral relations of both countries", also alluding to, that Seoul would obviously not be delighted with the fact, that Moscow would suddenly resume its military cooperation with its neighbor, North Korea.
Also in conversation with reporters, Korean President said, that support for Ukraine consists allegedly only in providing it with humanitarian assistance, as do many countries in the world, in solidarity with this country, but there was no talk of any lethal weapons, despite, what do they have [South Korea] allied relations with the USA, and Koreans, as he put it, realize, that all this is a matter of their [South Korea] national security.
At the end, the South Korean leader added, that the Republic of Korea "is making every effort to maintain peaceful, good relations with all countries of the world, including Russia", noting, that does not want enmity with her.
