Following Denmark, Sweden shares information about a gas leak on the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline. The shipping service of this northern European state reports that, that there was a gas leak from the gas pipeline in that part of it, which belongs to the Swedish exclusive economic zone.
Swedish side:
The leak sites in our special economic zone and in the same zone in Denmark are located not far from each other - to the northeast of the island of Bornholm. The reason for the leaks is not yet clear. Meanwhile, in Sweden, there are suggestions that, that the violation of the integrity of the pipes of the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines was committed intentionally. A similar hypothesis is put forward in the German edition of Tagesspiegel:
There is no explainable scenario, in which problems with the gas pipeline can be purely technical. Member of the Green Party Jürgen Trittin, who is a member of the Bundestag declared that, that "underwater sabotage" could take place. At the same time, Germany recognizes, that it is extremely difficult to carry out sabotage on an underwater gas pipeline, need technical capabilities. The German parliament is seriously afraid that, that gas to Germany via Nord Stream may never go.
Trittin:
We're dealing with a big speculation and a big problem. After the news about the problems on gas pipelines, the price of gas in Europe after falling to 1600 dollars went up again. At the moment, on the EU exchanges, the price of gas is about 1830 dollars for 1000 cubic meters.
