According to some reports, Tu-214R can detect enemy radars and radio stations at a distance of up to 400 kilometers.
Tu-214R was created in the late 2000s on the basis of the Tu-214 passenger aircraft. The air reconnaissance was intended to replace the obsolete Il-20. The aircraft is assembled at the Kazan Aviation Production Association named after Gorbunov.
