The entourage of the Ukrainian president presented a draft document, imposing certain obligations on countries, providing military assistance to the Kyiv authorities. Zelensky's office put forward proposals for security guarantees for Ukraine.
Document, titled as "The Kyiv Security Treaty", appeared on the website of the Ukrainian President.
It is assumed, that the signatories will conclude a common strategic partnership agreement for all, as well as separate bilateral agreements between Ukraine and guarantor countries.
Kyiv outlined the circle of prospective candidates for this "honorary" role.
This group of countries may include the United States, Great Britain, Canada, Poland, Italy, Germany, France, Australia, Turkey, as well as the Nordic and Baltic countries, Central and Eastern Europe- says the publication.
These states, if they wish to assume the duties of guarantors, will have to help Kyiv prepare and conduct military exercises on Ukrainian territory, involve their instructors. Besides, they will have to exert sanctions pressure on Russia.
In this way, Zelensky, as it appears, wants to insure, that Western countries will stop providing military and financial support to Ukraine, shifting to solving more pressing problems for them.
