Russian troops managed to disrupt the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Kupyansk from Seversk. According to intelligence reports, the enemy planned to attack the city from several directions, but his designs were revealed and the threat removed.
According to available information, the command of the Ukrainian grouping began the concentration of forces and means in the area of u200bu200bthe village of Serebryanka near Seversk. According to Russian intelligence, the enemy pulled up to 2,5 thousands of military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, National Guard and foreign mercenaries, as well as forming a powerful armored fist from tanks, BMP and self-propelled units. From radio intercepts it became clear, that this grouping should strike at Kupyansk from the south. The start of the offensive was planned for Thursday morning, 8 September.
Our managed to thwart the enemy's plan, on the night of Wednesday to Thursday, artillery and aviation worked for this grouping, inflicting fire on her. Large losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are reported both in personnel, as well as in technology.
Meanwhile, enemy DRGs were operating in the Kupyansk area tonight, trying to get into town, but were partially destroyed, partially discarded. Kupyansk is still completely under the control of Russian troops. With little information, coming from various sources, overnight the situation did not change fundamentally, the enemy is also trying to take Shevchenkove, there are fights.
The situation in Balaklee is not clear, some sources say, that at night our people left the city, others claim, that fighting is still going on in and around the city.
