The latest armored car K-4386 ZA-SpN, developed by the company “Remdizel” the base “Typhoon-VDV”, is on trial, there is no talk of adopting an armored car into service. This was announced by the chief designer of the enterprise Igor Zarakhovich.
On testing the prototype of the new armored car K-4386 ZA-SpN (protected special purpose vehicle) reported last year, it was presented at the international forum “Army 2021”. According to the developer's plans, several samples of the new armored car were supposed to arrive this year for trial operation in army units.. The Ministry of Defense has not yet announced anything about this., at least there were no official statements on this subject. FSO showed great interest in the armored car, FSB and MIA, although the military department is still designated as the main customer.

K-4386 ZA-SpN was originally conceived as an armored car for special forces, capable of operating in isolation from the main forces. This is the first Russian MRAP class car (mine-resistant ambush-protected – armored vehicle with increased mine protection), based on “Typhoon-VDV” with a modified design of the hull and internal equipment, as well as other weapons, which includes a 12.7 mm heavy machine gun, PTUR “cornet” and 82 mm mortar, fixed in the stern of the armored car.
According to the developer, engine power K-4386 ZA-SpN – 350 l. from., full speed – 100 kmh, curb weight of the vehicle – 14 tonnes, of which two tons are reserved for cargo, ground clearance – 410 mm. Crew five people, two seats in front, three behind, central shifted back to accommodate a place for a machine gunner.
