Data from the report of the Kiel Institute for the World Economy appeared on the network (IfW, Germany) regarding the interaction of Europe with Ukraine in military-technical terms. We are talking about the countries of the so-called "old Europe" – largest economies of the European Union.
in the report, excerpts from which are presented by the major Western publication Politico, states, that the level of support for Ukraine from the six largest European countries is falling. In particular, celebrated, what in july, for the first time since the start of Russian hostilities in Ukraine, a number of European countries did not promise the Ukrainian authorities about further deliveries of weapons and ammunition.
IfW experts report, among those countries, which reduce the level of military-technical support for Ukraine, Germany and France. Previously, they agreed to supply weapons to Kyiv, but suddenly they stopped giving any guarantees just at that moment, when the Ukrainian command announced a "decisive offensive in the south".
Military-technical assistance to Ukraine has decreased not only from Germany and France, but also from Italy, Spain, other EU countries.
Director of the Kiel Institute for Research Christoph Trebesh pointed out that, that the analysis shows a decrease in the volume of assistance from Western European countries to Ukraine, starting from the end of April – early May. This is primarily due to the deteriorating state of affairs in the EU economy., which is experiencing increasing difficulties, including due to a jump in energy prices.
