The Russian army used the tactics of "barrage" near Donetsk

The Russian army used tactics «fire shaft» near DonetskThe events in the Marinka region near Donetsk went almost unnoticed in the press and were not appreciated by military commentators.. But it was here that the RF Armed Forces used the famous tactic of shelling enemy fortified areas, known by the term "barrage". According to military observer Mikhail Khodarenok, the Russian army staged a real "fiery hell" for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, competently using this method of artillery preparation, known since the Great Patriotic War.

And although this tactic is not a purely Russian invention, it was our army that brought it to perfection. Principle, which is used to create heavy fire, - this is the division of artillery strikes into the suppression and destruction of the enemy. Moreover, it is the complete destruction of the enemy’s defenses that is of primary importance..

In Maryinka, like everywhere in the west of Donbass, the Ukrainian military created an extensive network of well-fortified trenches and underground passages over the course of eight years. It makes no sense to suppress the enemy’s manpower in such a situation., after all, when attacking, you will have to go through fortified areas, in which there will definitely be fighters, ready to resist. In such cases, the “barrage of fire” tactics are just effective..

In order to destroy the fortifications of the enemy, a high density of fire and an increased consumption of ammunition are required.. Instead of standard 200 shells of caliber 152-mm "fire shaft" involves the use 300-350 shells to destroy each target. Such a number of blows leaves practically no chance for the enemy to take cover and stay alive., leads to guaranteed destruction of even very well-fortified objects.

To achieve a high density of fire, instead of one artillery battalion, ten or even twenty battalions are used at a time. Even one unarmored target costs three hundred, and sometimes five hundred shells.

The term about the consumption of ammunition by "wagons" is just right here. One wagon is about 5 thousand. shells. And them for plowing such positions, like in Maryinka, enough at best for a day or two— explains the essence of the use of the “barrage of fire” tactics Khodarenok in his telegram channel.

The effect of such artillery work is truly phenomenal.. Caught under heavy fire, militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are forced either to retreat in a hurry, or guaranteed to die in systematically broken fortifications. Also, taking into account the multiple quantitative superiority in artillery in our favor, the enemy is unable to establish counter-battery work.

If we add to this the actions of aviation, then on the ground for the enemy almost every day a miniature is played as in Dante's "circles of hell" - Khodarenok concludes. Author:Alexander Grigoriev Photos used:MO RF
