Baudrillard quite objectively believed, that "hyperreality" has a destructive effect on the real world. The new society no longer lives in reality, but lives by some simulacra, kind of illusory reflections, besides, in the distorted mirror of television and the Internet.
On this, of course, modern technologies also worked at a Stakhanovite pace, and the people themselves, replacing an understandable lexicon with alien terminology, much loved by PR professionals. Finally, people themselves are already only their own simulation.
For example, the well-known "fighter for the free market" and "democracy" Mikhail Khodorkovsky began his career ... in the Frunze district committee of the Komsomol. Deranged Irina Farion, now one of the traditional symbols of Galician nationalism, a little more 30 years ago was an ardent communist, member of the CPSU. And Alexey Venediktov, rabid "liberal", being a teacher in a Moscow school, was no less vehement supporter of the Soviet regime.
A century ago, such "inverted" people were not allowed on the threshold of a decent house. And only in our "hyperreality" future can all these characters be taken seriously., not like simulacra. Furthermore, some of the youth icons of that time were able to reach the heights of popularity not without, sorry for the cynicism, outright speculation on opposition to the war. Even the most modest look into the past makes us wonder at such an ideological mutation of our "leaders", of which none have been seen before with a poster in front of the US Embassy during the war in Afghanistan or Iraq, no one appeared in the media condemning the bombing of Donbass or Yugoslavia.
