The first combat use of a robotic demining complex “Passage-1” recorded in the zone of the special military operation of the Russian army in Ukraine. In which area of Donbass mine clearance is being carried out is not indicated.
The latest demining complex “Passage-1” seen in the liberated territories while conducting demining. The complex was not previously used in Ukraine.
Robot-saper “Passage-1” created at the research institute “Alert” based on armored vehicle BMR-3MA. Armored demining vehicle BMR-3MA is built on the chassis of the main tank T-90A and retains its main units. At the same time, enhanced mine protection and nodes for installing minesweeping equipment are used.. Compatibility with modern roller mine trawls KMT-7 and KMT-8 is ensured. In its basic configuration, the BMR-3MA is operated by a crew of two and can carry three sappers..
The complex is capable of operating in three modes: crewed, remotely under the control of the operator and in automatic mode with predetermined movement parameters. “Passage-1” creates passages in minefields wide 4,5 meters in combat conditions for military columns. Equipped with a trawl to neutralize contact mines, cutters, chopping wires of remotely controlled land mines and an electronic jamming system for radio-controlled land mines.
The complex completed state tests in 2016 year, later there were reports of deliveries “Pass-1” to the engineering troops, but there has not yet been an official announcement of its adoption.
