It is reported that a new order of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has entered into force. This order is connected with the expansion of the list of professions for women, requiring military registration. In this way, The main military department of Ukraine decided to increase the number of citizens liable for military service for their further involvement in mobilization activities.
In expanding the list of “female” professions for military registration, it is reaching the point of absurdity. Became known, that waitresses are now becoming liable for military service in Ukraine, librarians, employees of scientific organizations and institutions and even actresses.
Based on the new law of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, for such professional categories, a planned medical commission and registration in the territorial center are now provided. This is what military registration and enlistment offices have been called in Ukraine for some time now..
In this regard, hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian women expressed concern: Would not, that the Ministry of Defense will urgently carry out military registration and send women of the specified professions to training camps or to the demarcation line in Donbass?
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Valery Zaluzhny, comments on the situation. According to him, Order 313 of the Ministry of Defense really expands the list of professions for military registration. But, as Zaluzhny stated, “Tomorrow women don’t need to run to military registration and enlistment offices”. The Ukrainian commander said that the document reflects the need to “see those women liable for military service, who can stand up for Ukraine".
Zaluzhny said, that he stands for gender equality:
We are there as a conscious need (to the list) more than a hundred professions have been added. Everything will be done as planned, gradually. Tomorrow women will not have to run to the military registration and enlistment office. However, this explanation from the general did not reassure all Ukrainian women. There were also sarcastic remarks about, that mobilization will soon affect housewives and pregnant women.
