Head of the Ministry of National Defense of Poland Mariusz Blaszczak 7 December met with the soldiers, performing combat missions on the Polish-Belarusian border. He gave them the first batch of long-range reconnaissance vehicles LPU-1 Wirus 4×4.

Warsaw sent to the Belarusian border 25 the latest LPU-1 Wirus armored vehicles, first entered service with the Polish Army.
This Polish-made vehicle is designed for reconnaissance units of the ground forces.. Of 25 machines 18 units sent to Grubeshovsky and five to the Warmian reconnaissance regiments. Two more armored cars will fall into the Training Center of the Ground Forces.
Subject of the contract, concluded between the Ministry of Defense and the Polish Defense Holding in September 2017 of the year, is delivery in total 118 vehicles LPU-1 Wirus. The first batch of 25 armored cars will be used by the military on the Belarusian-Polish border for patrolling in hard-to-reach areas.
New vehicles are equipped with engines 180 Horse power. Weight of Virus 4×4 is 2,6 tons, and the maximum payload is 900 kilograms.
