High Performance Modular Air Defense Network, capable of dealing with high-precision weapons, aviation and small drones, will be created on the basis of ZRPK “Carapace-S1M”. It will be included as anti-aircraft systems, intended for the physical destruction of targets, and electronic warfare, capable of suppressing UAV control channels, etc.. Since this ZRPK is an export option, then most likely we are talking about an air defense system for foreign customers, for the Russian army, the same system will be created on the basis of ZRPK “Carapace CM”, which is not exported.
According to Mikhailov said, choice of ZRPK “Carapace-S1M” as a key element of the new system is not accidental, this complex has shown high efficiency in the fight against UAVs and is the least expensive means of combating drones in the world, TASS informs.

As explained, ZRPK received new hypersonic anti-aircraft guided missiles (developing countries), but is capable of using missiles from “old” complex. New missiles allow you to hit targets at range 30 km, and in height – to 18, while for the base complex these parameters were 20 and 15 km. The complex was created taking into account the Syrian experience and is able to recognize all types of drones.
ZRPK “Carapace-S1M” is an export version of the ZRPK “Carapace CM”, designed for the Russian army. The developers presented the new complex at the EDEX arms exhibition 2021, taking place these days in Egypt.
