The southern direction will be reinforced with new heavy flamethrower systems TOS-2 “Tosochka”, the delivery of which to the troops will begin this year. The corresponding decision was made by the Ministry of Defense.
The southern direction in the military department is considered the most dangerous because of the situation, emerging in the region and “neighbors”, including Georgia and Ukraine, being “partners” USA. In this regard, the military department decided to supply new and modernized heavy flamethrower systems.. It's about TOS-2 “Tosochka” and TOS-1A “the sun”.
In total, it is planned to cover three main areas – Caucasus, Crimea and border with Ukraine. At the same time, wheeled TOS-2, if necessary, can be transferred to the western direction.
As reported “Notifications” citing military sources, deliveries will go in two stages. The first will increase the number of flamethrower systems in existing parts, on the second, new units will be deployed.
Heavy flamethrower system TOS-2 is based on TOS-1 “Pinocchio” and TOS-1A “the sun”, but unlike them, it has a wheelbase and improved tactical and technical characteristics. The machine was created taking into account the experience of using such weapons during the hostilities in the Middle East..
