The last day of the Partner-2021 arms exhibition is underway in Belgrade, where, among other things, samples of weapons and military equipment were demonstrated, created by the enterprises of the Serbian defense industry. In particular, Serbia upgraded the M-84 tank with "Soviet roots" and demonstrated it at the exhibition.
The basis for the basic model of the Serbian tank M-84 was the T-72 created in the USSR, which, under license, was produced by Yugoslavia under its own name. Its upgraded version M-84AC2, shown at the exhibition, equipped with an advanced fire control system (SUO), modern video surveillance system and dynamic armor.
The tank is armed with a 125mm smoothbore gun., as well as a twin machine-gun mount caliber 7,62 mm to destroy enemy manpower, and 12,7 mm anti-aircraft machine gun to protect against threats from the air. In the improved version, the anti-aircraft gun is controlled remotely.
M-84AC2 also received a modern digital communication and navigation system, as well as other state-of-the-art equipment. Generally, new upgraded version of the M-84 main battle tank features improved performance in terms of firepower, mobility, protection and crew awareness of the situation on the battlefield.
