Ukraine intends to manage part of the Russian gas pipeline “Northern Stream 2”. Its services as a management company will offer “Ukrainian GTS operator”. This was announced by the head of the company Sergey Makogon.
Ukrainian company intends to take over the management of a section of the Russian gas pipeline within the framework of the updated EU gas directive, prohibiting the same company from extracting and transporting gas. Also the directive requires, so that the pipeline entering the EU is either partially filled by another supplier, or part of the pipeline belonged to another company.

– said Makogon, commenting on the decision of the Dusseldorf court on the complaint of the operator “Northern Stream 2” Nord Stream AG.
Earlier, the above-mentioned court refused Nord Stream AG to satisfy the claim and withdraw the gas pipeline from the renewed EU gas directive on the basis of, that it was not completed by 23 May 2019 of the year.
The company itself does not agree with the court's decision, calling it “discriminatory”, and intend to take further steps, exactly what, will be announced later. Nord Stream AG emphasizes, What's on 23 May 2019 the gas pipeline was completed in terms of financial support and fully complied with all the criteria of the existing legal framework. The directive itself was adopted much later under pressure from opponents of the construction of the gas pipeline..
