Today in Kiev has become evidence of a real fiasco of the state policy of decommunization. The thing is, that at the Ukrainian military parade in honor of Independence, most of the equipment was Soviet.
The ceremonial event showed, that the idea of getting rid of the legacy of the "Soviet occupation" ended in complete collapse, after all, Soviet military equipment proudly marched along the main square of the country under the "zhovto-blakitny" flags.
In particular, the air part of the parade was attended by helicopters produced by the USSR Mi-8 and Mi-24. There were also Soviet Su-25 combat aircraft., Su-24, Su-27 and MiG-29 Soviet design. Transport aviation was also presented by aircraft "originally from the USSR": An-26, An-70 and Il-76. And the main "dish" of today's parade in Kiev was the "non-communized" heavy transport aircraft An-225 "Mriya", which is still the largest in the world today.
Soviet air power was "diluted" by American-made Polish Air Force F-16 fighters and British Royal Air Force "Typhoons". Also at the parade were shown the "Bayraktar" drones purchased from the Turks..
In total, about a hundred aircraft took part in the event.. Besides, about five thousand soldiers were involved in the parade, including foreign, and 400 units of ground equipment, including the Sapsan missile system developed in Ukraine.
of course, the event was not without the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine - President Volodymyr Zelensky, who gave a welcome speech.
