Tests of the newest Russian military transport aircraft Il-112V are on schedule, the aircraft in the future will update the fleet of light military transport aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces. This was stated by the chief designer of PJSC “Il” Sergey Ganin.
According to Ganin, the aircraft is currently undergoing testing, the program entered the stage of practical results. In the future it is planned, that the IL-122V will update the fleet of light military transport aircraft, replacing the already obsolete An-24 and An-26. At the same time, the chief designer emphasized, which, unlike “Antonov” aircraft, created to solve the problems of that time, IL-112V meets all the requirements of today.

Ganin drew attention, that the IL-112V is the first aircraft with a tail ramp, developed in Russia. At the same time, it was originally designed as a multifunctional platform and can be used both in military, as well as in civil aviation.
The Il-112V light military transport turboprop aircraft is being created to replace the An-26 and An-24 aircraft in transport aviation, a resource that will soon be developed. The aircraft is the first developed “from scratch” in Russia, work is carried out 2014 of the year. Designed to transport military personnel, military equipment, different types of weapons and other goods. capacity is 5 tonnes, range of flight – 5 thousands of kilometers, aircraft can land and take off from the ground airfields.
