On the YouTube channel of TK “star” there was a video of the training of the crew of the heaviest aircraft of the VTA VKS RF – AN-124 “Ruslan”. As stated in the description for the video, the crew completed piloting the aircraft with one “refusing” engine of four, installed on the plane. The exercises were held in the Tver region.

According to the reporter “Stars”, on board the aircraft, although the An-124 is very large, it is operated by only two people – commander and pilot. At the same time, the crew includes several more people.: navigators and engineers.


According to data from public sources, operators of An-124-100 aircraft “Ruslan” in Russia are the military transport aviation of the Aerospace Forces, 224-1st flight squad – subsidiary of the Ministry of Defense, and also the company “Volga-Dnepr”.

Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense advocated the resumption of production “Ruslanova”, however, the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov rejected the urgent need for this, stated, that the repair of the existing An-124 fleet will allow them to be operated up to 2040 of the year, and there will be a new super-heavy aircraft.
