Kiev intends to accuse ex-deputies of treason for ratifying the treaty on the Russian fleet in Crimea
Over Ukrainian deputies of the Verkhovna Rada, voted in 2010 year for the ratification of the Kharkiv agreements on the presence of the Russian fleet in Crimea, the threat of charges of high treason looms. This was stated by the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov.

The SBU, on behalf of the National Security and Defense Council, began checking the circumstances of the extension of the agreement with Russia on the presence of the Russian fleet in Crimea. Kyiv intends to find out, how the deputies of the Rada in 2010 voted to ratify the treaty and charge them with treason “in case of need”.

There is an order from the SBU to find out the circumstances of that, how these 236 deputies voted on this issue. (…) If the SBU deems it necessary, then she must initiate under article 111 of the Criminal Code - on treason - against the relevant persons
– said Danilov.

The National Security and Defense Council emphasized, that the vote on the ratification of the Kharkiv agreements has passed 27 April 2010 year “very short time”, what, in its turn, led to the loss of Crimea and the conflict in Donbas.

Recall, 21 April 2010 years in Kharkov, agreements were signed on the conditions for the stay of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in the Crimea for a period of 25 years in exchange for a reduction in the price of Russian gas. 27 April 2010 the Verkhovna Rada ratified the treaty.

AT 2014 Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the law, terminating agreements with Ukraine on the Black Sea Fleet, since Crimea returned to Russia.
