Xiaomi products, Huawei or other Chinese tech giants can't do sweatshop. They are leading because, that created a developed transport and energy infrastructure (Steve Jobs, who is still alive, spoke about this at a hearing in the American Congress).
Yet again, a few days ago I was translating a Chinese text, which, among other things, wrote about power bridges "north-south" and "west-east", allowing to transfer a large amount of electricity from regions with excess generation to regions with increased consumption. Without this, it would also be very difficult to build a developed industry in China..
Energy and roads (if wider, then transport) Is that basis, without which no development in a technological civilization is possible.
A few years ago I wrote about, that Russia is increasing its electricity production at a faster pace. And so before the new year, another record was set again in terms of the volume of produced and consumed energy.
New railways are being built (including high-speed), rolling stock is being renewed. Port "Ultramar" in Ust-Luga already leaves the Baltic and Ukrainian ports without work. The South and Second North Streams are being completed. Quietly and without noise "Power of Siberia". The Northern Sea Route is developing.
In fact Russia is changing the logistics landscape of the world, creating new trade routes and traffic flows, even considered inconceivable.
To understand the scale of these changes and their possible consequences (some of which we are already beginning to contemplate), worth remembering, that at one time it was the development of river navigation on the Volga that led to the strengthening of Novgorod and Moscow, and at the same time to the loss of strategic importance and the decline of Kiev.
Yet again, I've been writing about that, what competent logistics is a terrible weapon, capable of destroying countries and winning wars (sometimes, without even starting them).
It's not enough to produce some goods, you need to deliver them to the end consumer - and it is highly desirable to do it faster, cheaper and / or more reliable, than competitors.
Not so, like a sunken Ukrainian river barge in the Black Sea. Ahem, excuse me, could not resist.
by the way, Americans (and the Anglo-Saxons in general) understand the importance of logistics. This is why they put in a lot of effort, to take control of the Ukrainian GTS and try in every possible way to prevent the completion of Nord Stream 2 and the development of the Northern Sea Route.
But I conceived this article not only to state the facts already listed.. But also for that, to ask one more question that is extremely unpleasant for some.
We see large-scale infrastructure projects in China. We see grandiose (and sometimes considered impossible, like the Crimean bridge) infrastructure projects in Russia.
A where similar projects of the "richest", "The most advanced" and "most developed" country in the world?

Well, the decrepit hegemon has no (the same falling apart, like its current president) no new projects, comparable to the same Hoover dam. Only imitation hi-tech with rounded corners at exploding water pumps.
