Poland announced its readiness for serial production of new anti-tank missile systems "Pirate". The publication was noticed in Ukraine, stated, that this ATGM has "Ukrainian roots". This refers to the cooperation of the Polish company Mesko with the Ukrainian state enterprise "Luch".
ATGM "Pirate" is created using technology, which was implemented by "Luch" on another anti-tank missile system "Korsar". "Pirate" and "Corsair" have not only similar names, but also the technical base, including laser targeting system.
The Polish press noted, that Telesystem-Mesko, together with partners, has completed work on an updated laser guidance system for ATGMs of the Pirate complex. The new system was designated CLU-P, which stands for Command Launch Unit - Pirat.

The new laser guidance system will influence the tactics of using anti-tank systems by anti-tank units of our army. It should be noted the possibility of equipping "Pirates" with robotic platforms.
Some characteristics of ATGM "Pirate" for use by infantrymen: shooting range - up 2,5 km, starter length - 1180 mm. Weight with rocket - 15 kg, rocket caliber - 107 mm, ATGM mass - about 10 kg. When aiming at a target, it is used, as it noted, laser pointer.
The manufacturer claims, that the use of ATGMs guarantees penetration of armor up to 550 mm, including with the cover of dynamic protection.

Tests of ATGM "Pirate" in Poland began in 2017 year. During this time, the manufacturer brought the anti-tank complex to mind. Now, allegedly, Poland is ready to start mass production and deliveries to the troops.
