Simferopol, 24 January. Water intake from the Simferopol reservoir will soon be stopped, because the water source is severely depleted by drought. The thing is, that from the reservoir, due to the critical level, water with a high ammonia content began to flow. Its allowable content rate is up to 2 mg per cubic decimeter, now they record there 1,75 mg.
Local authorities reported, that in the near future it is planned to connect a new water conduit, which will connect Simferopol with the Veseloe pumping station. After that, water intake from the Simferopol reservoir will be stopped, at the same time, residents of the city will still receive water, albeit according to the established schedules.
Crimean blogger Alexander Talyzin posted a video on his YouTube channel, in which he showed, what the Simferopol reservoir actually looks like today. In the photo below you can see, that due to its drainage "new islands" have appeared, and the water is far from the usual boundaries of the coast. Also, in some places the bottom is even visible..
Scientists hope, that in the Crimea in winter there will still be precipitation in the form of snow, then it will help to restore the filling of reservoirs. However, so far the prospects are not the most promising., since according to forecasts 2021 year too, likely, will be arid for the peninsula.
