Belarus will decide on further participation in the agreement “Open sky” or leaving it only after receiving an official message about leaving the Don Russia. This was stated by the head of the department of international military cooperation of the Belarusian Defense Ministry Oleg Voinov.
Responding to a question,, Voinov explained, what Belarus will decide, stay in her contract “Open sky” or get out of it, only after receiving an official notification from Minsk about Moscow's withdrawal. To date, Belarus has not received such a notification.
As of 22 January 2021 the Republic of Belarus was not informed about the withdrawal of the Russian Federation from the Don. The issue of the withdrawal of the Republic of Belarus from the DON or the determination of a new procedure for participation in the treaty will be resolved after receiving notification of the withdrawal of the Russian Federation from the DON and carrying out the relevant domestic procedures.
