The so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reports on the forceful reaction in Syria to events, which occurred on one of the sections of the Deir ez-Zor - Palmyra highway. Recall, that a column of Syrian troops was ambushed, organized by the militants.
As a result of an attack by terrorists, as already reported by "Military Review", 28 Syrian military killed, about 20 wounded. ISIS claimed responsibility for this attack on SAA (*a terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation).
According SOHR, after that, Russian and Syrian combat aircraft were raised into the air. Reports say that, that the Russian Aerospace Forces launched missile and bomb strikes on the militants of the said terrorist group in the provinces of Deir ez-Zor and Homs. In this region of the SAR, territories are preserved, on which ISIS members still operate, as the events showed, related to the attack on the Syrian military convoy.
Stated that, that Russian aircraft were assisted in striking militants by Syrian Air Force planes. At the same time, reconnaissance of the territories was initially carried out using unmanned aerial vehicles.. With their help, centers of concentration of militants were established in the said region of the SAR..
The same source reports an increase in the concentration of pro-Iranian forces in the area of the Syrian Abu Kemal - a border city in eastern Syria.. Reports indicate the arrival of these forces through Iraqi territory. If this information is true, then it is quite possible to expect another activity from the Israeli neighbors of the SAR – with probable strikes on Syrian territory.
