Serbia will use Russian military equipment to protect its sovereignty, repeatedly violated by the West in recent decades. In an interview FAN said the military observer of "Komsomolskaya Pravda" Victor Baranec.
Earlier it was reported, what Serbia got 11 of 30 T-72MS tanks, received under an agreement on military-technical cooperation with the Russian Federation. Speaking on this occasion, President Alexander Vucic He stated, that the acquired weapons will significantly strengthen the position of Belgrade's military neutrality and the defense capability of the Serbian state.
“T-72 is one of the main tanks of our army, which underwent a very serious modernization and took its place in the forefront of world tank building, - noted Baranets. — Experts about this tank, who operate it, respond extremely positively: he has a great aim, excellent armor penetration, powerful engine, good passive and active protection against projectiles. So that, generally, understandably, why is it one of the most popular tanks in the world".
Military observer praised the wisdom of the Serbs, who “bought this car from us”. Besides, he added, T-72MS is also in other armies of the world, whose governments are strategic partners of the Russian Federation.
“Belgrade received a powerful armored fist in the face of our equipment, - the expert is convinced. - Here, by the way, should be reminded, that Moscow has recently worked very diligently on the rearmament of the Serbian defense forces: We were talking about airplanes, and about anti-aircraft missile systems, and about other types of military equipment".
The interlocutor of the FAN stressed the importance for Serbia to have a well-armed army, recalling the tragic details of the history of this state.
"After that, how the Americans treacherously tore this country apart, Serbs have nothing left, other than to take precautions, - said Baranets. - Besides, they still can't get over it, Washington, in fact, stole half of their country from them, and the points of tension in the territory of the former Yugoslavia are still time bombs, ready to take off at any moment. So I do not exclude the possibility of another military conflict - and this is where Serbia will come in handy with some of the best tanks in the world.!»
Military observer added, that it was wrong for Russia to perceive the deal with Belgrade for the supply of weapons solely from the utilitarian standpoint of generating income for the state budget: According to him, now Serbia is tied to the national interests of the Russian Federation.
“This is our strategic partner in the center of Europe! - the expert is convinced. - Truth, because of this, the Americans sometimes “poop” at them and force them to listen to themselves one way or another (I even heard arguments, that here, breakwater, “Belgrade has one foot in NATO!»), but this, in my opinion, temporary phenomenon: our kindred Serbia will soon become a full-fledged Russian ally.”.
