The first flight of the new Russian medium-range aircraft MS-21 with domestic PD-14 engines is planned to be carried out before the end of this year. This was stated by the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov.

According to the minister, в настоящее время идет отладка систем и тестирование самолета. В ближайшее время на Иркутский авиазавод ожидается прибытие специалистов из КБ им. Яковлева и летчиков-испытателей для подготовки к первому полету.
Recall, что выкатка первого опытного экземпляра пассажирского самолета МС-21-310 с двигателями ПД-14 российской разработки прошла в начале ноября. Самолет был передан в летно-испытательное подразделение Иркутского авиационного завода из цеха сборки.

The PD-14 turbofan engine is being developed with 2008 of the year. This is the first new Russian-developed aircraft engine in the last 30 years. Double-circuit twin-shaft engine PD-14 is capable of developing thrust up to 14 tonnes takeoff.
Russian customers MS-21 will be supplied with PD-14 engines in modification MS-21-310, а на экспорт — в модификации МС-21-300 с американскими силовыми установками PW1400G.
