Russia and Kazakhstan have removed all existing differences and are starting to create a space rocket complex “Baiterek” at the Baikonur cosmodrome. This was reported by the press service of Roscosmos.
reportedly, on Saturday in Moscow, a protocol was signed on amendments and additions to the intergovernmental agreement on the creation of a space rocket complex at the Baikonur cosmodrome “Baiterek”. The document was signed by the CEO “Roscosmos” Dmitry Rogozin and Minister of Digital Development, innovations and aerospace industry of Kazakhstan Bagdat Musin.
In this way, all previous disagreements between the parties were closed, and project “Baiterek” passed into the stage of practical implementation

Roscosmos head Dmitry Rogozin explained, that this agreement implies the construction of a launch complex at “Baikonur” for the new Russian launch vehicle “Soyuz-5”.

In addition to the main agreement, a contract was also signed for the provision of services for the creation of the complex “Baiterek” between the Center for Operation of Ground-Based Space Infrastructure Facilities (part of the “Roscosmos”) and the Joint Kazakh-Russian Venture “Baiterek”.
Within the framework of this project, Kazakhstan is responsible for the ground infrastructure, and Russia – for the creation of launch vehicles “Soyuz-5” and “Soyuz-6”. The first launch from the updated complex is scheduled for 2023 year.
