NAPL project “viburnum” the fifth generation received the number 777A, according to the report, USC is designing a small-tonnage submarine of the project “Kalina 777A”. Besides, the corporation continues work on technical re-equipment in order to create the production of systems, accessories, devices and mechanisms for non-nuclear submarine “viburnum”.
In early September of this year, the head of USC Rakhmanov told, that the corporation continues work on submarines of the fifth generation of nuclear submarines “viburnum” and the Premier League “Huskies”. However, he stressed, that work is carried out on an initiative basis.

NAPL “viburnum” created to replace diesel-electric submarines “Varshavyanka”, currently in service. The development of the submarine is carried out by the design bureau “Ruby”. The submarine should receive an air-independent power plant, At what stage are the works on this topic not yet reported.
AT 2017 It was reported, that the program for the construction of fifth-generation non-nuclear submarines is included in the state armament program. Experimental design work on “Kalina” must be completed before 2025 of the year.
